The Whanganui Comprehensive Land Settlement Working Party wishes to encourage nga uri o Whanganui/Wai Claimants to attend one of three Hui being held on your behalf.

The following are a list of important information Hui:

1. Historical Overview of Claims to Settlement.

2. Tribunal Report Update.

3. Infrastructure going forward.

Hui no 1: 12 May 2013, Te Puke Marae,Raetihi 10am to 1pm.

Hui no 2: 26 May 2013,Putiki Marae,Whanganui, 10am to 1pm.

  WHANAU BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT SATURDAY 8TH JUNE 2013.....
 

To be held at the Springvale Stadium, 10am start on Saturday 8th June.

All grades will be social & mixed. There are 2 grades 10-13 years and 14 years and over. Teams will also need to supply one person to operate the score bench at appointed times.

UCOL Whanganui have some free 6 month training programmes for 16 & 17 year olds that ARE not engaged with any education or training, so not in school. Enquire now, programmes start July 18th or go to UCOL's Open Days 18th-20th June.

2. Sport & Fitness Level 3 - Open day to be held at Inspire Gym May 25th 10am - 12pm. If you want to go on this programme

3. Motor Industry Level 2 in conjunction with AG Challenge

4. Joinery Level 2 in conjunction with AG Challenge

5. Certificate in Hospitality Level 3

6. Certificate in Tertiary study skills level 2

7. National certificate in Computing Level 3 (online).

The museum is honoured to host renowned Taonga Puoro Musician, Jerome Kavanagh as part of Puanga Celebrations.

Traditional Maori Instruments:

Thursday 30th May at 7pm, The Atrium,Whanganui Regional Museum,koha entry.

Taonga Puoro Fusion:

Friday 31 May at 7pm, The Atrium,Whanganui Regional Museum,koha entry.

Jerome and his friends demonstrate the versatality and power of Taonga Puoro in a Hip Hop fusion experience at the Museum.

While you are at the museum, grab the chance to look at a small collection of some very old and fragile instruments put on show for the Puanga celebrations.
